Frequently Asked Questions
What types of bins do you clean?
We clean garbage, recycling, and yard waste bins.
For dumpsters or commercial bins, please contact us for custom pricing.
Why should I clean my garbage and recycling bins?
Waste bins are breeding grounds for harmful bacteria like Salmonella, E. coli, and Listeria. Just one bag of trash containing common household items—like tissues, napkins, diapers, eggs, raw meat, spoiled milk, and rotting produce—can multiply bacteria by the thousands within hours.
Dirty bins release unpleasant odors and attract insects and rodents. Regular cleaning reduces health risks, eliminates odors, and helps prevent pest problems.
Can’t I just clean my bins myself?
Cleaning your bins yourself is typically ineffective and not eco-friendly. Cool water from the hose doesn’t kill bacteria, and using chemicals exposes you to both harmful substances and the very bacteria you’re trying to eliminate. If the dirty water isn’t collected and disposed of correctly, it can pollute your yard, driveway, sidewalks, and nearby storm drains.
What happens to the dirty water?
We collect and dispose of all dirty water in an environmentally responsible way. Nothing is left to run off into your yard, driveway, or storm drains.
When do you clean the bins?
The Bin Rescuers Team will confirm your starting date depending on your community’s route. Often we can confirm for the week that you enroll and then place you onto the same schedule as your neighbors the following month.
Do I need to be home during the cleaning?
Nope! As long as your bins are at the curb or accessible in the agreed-upon location, we’ll take care of everything and return them cleaned.
What if I bring my bins in early or don’t leave them out?
Just like your trash pickup, bins must be empty and curbside on your scheduled service day. If needed, we’ll call, text, or knock to notify you we’re on-site. We do not reschedule or issue credits for missed appointments, but we’ll be back on your next scheduled visit.
To avoid a missed cleaning, please ensure your bins are out and accessible by your service time.
